Hi guys! Last week while scavenging for Black Friday deals, I noticed that Yelle Beauty was having a super blowout sale, and all of their systems were priced at 60% off! 😱
This was huge because I’ve been in dying need of skin care products for a long time. I’m one of those people who only wash their face with water and gentle soap 🤦🏾♀️. As I’m getting older that ish is just not cutting it anymore. I’ve never dealt with acne or bumps, but I’ve always dealt with dark circles, and now I’m realizing I need to try to do something about it. In case you’re unfamiliar with the brand, Yelle Beauty is a skincare line specifically made for melanin-rich skin. It was created by Yandy Smith-Harris and a team of licensed beauty professionals. All of the products are created with organic ingredients and they don’t contain any parabens or phthalates.
I was drawn to the brand because of its promise to specifically cater to melanated skin. As someone who didn’t have a skin care regimen prior to purchasing, I wanted to make sure I used something specifically made for me. If you follow Yandy on Instagram then you know that she does these cute little bathroom-dance tutorials teaching us how to use the products. It’s hilarious! That was also one of the reasons I purchased. She clearly uses it all the time herself, which was a plus for me.
Yandy with the Bathroom-Dance Tutorial lol
I purchased the 5-piece system for dry skin. My skin is super dry so there was no reason for me to even entertain the other versions which were geared towards normal and oily skin. I ordered on Black Friday and I received my package a few days ago.
Awakening 5-Step System:
Milk & Honey Cleanser, Toner, Hydrating Serum, Brightening Eye Cream, Daily Moisturizer
I asked my Instagram followers if they wanted to see me do a routine/review and 96% of them voted yes!
So here we are. I went in my bathroom and began my first routine using the 5-piece system. Of course I had to set the tone with the “Yandy Dance” to get me started lol
I started with the Milk & Honey Cleanser, then the Toner. After using the toner it was time to do a gentle wipe to remove excess product. At this time I noticed that I still had remnants of make-up and debris on my face. Ewww!
Yuck! But that’s what we’re here for.
Next, I moved onto the Hydrating Serum. I massaged that onto my face until it was nice and blended. Next was the Brightening Eye Cream. This was my most important step because my main focus is to treat my dark circles. The Toner and Eye Cream had somewhat of a light burning sensation but not in an irritating way. They both felt like they were tightening my face but it wasn’t painful. Lastly was the Daily Moisturizer. A little definitely goes a long way with the moisturizer. Just a few dabs and I had full coverage. At the end of the routine my face felt great. It felt really hydrated which is new for me. I usually have to pack on tons of lotion to ensure I’m not walking around like Ashy Larry lol.
I would definitely recommend Yelle Beauty to anyone seeking a good skin routine for melanin-rich skin. The ingredients are specifically put together for us which is rare. All of the products are lightweight and pretty much unscented. If you’re interested in trying the products for yourself you can visit their website here: https://yelleskincare.com/.
Be sure to tell them I sent you. 😊
